The Polaroid one step 600 series and the Impossiable 600 series colour instant film featured in the middle of the photo above.
So, while travelling down south for a long overdue break to Bridgetown, I got the opportunity on the last day to head to a swap meet. On arrival, I found a near perfect condition Polaroid camera (model one step) 600 series. The camera is such a simple setup but wow, just an incredible style of Polaroid camera!
These days they have the Polaroid Z2300 and the Instax. But with the film costing around $1 per photo, it's a bit on the pricey side. Let alone, the film for the the impossible Polaroid 600 series, which is around $5 to $6 per photo (colour film and even more for B&W), the cost of the flash bar are just as bad. For around $20 to $30 you'll only get 10 flashes as each flash only has one use out of it as the bulb explodes. So for a whole set of 8 exposures with my 10 bulb flash bar were talking $60. But can you put a price on art?
This is where the fun begins. I'll be using my Polaroid one step 600 series camera on my photo shoots and will be starting The Impossible Project. I'll keep you all posted once I've organised a shoot for this. Exciting times ahead.
